PATENTED METALLIC
HEAT TAPE TECHNOLOGY
The secret behind our unique heating systems lie in our patented metallic heat tape technology which allows our heating systems to offer unparalleled heating efficiency but also save the user on installation and material cost. Combine all these aspects and you will see that the TruHeat systems are the perfect choice when it comes to radiant floor heating.
Metallic heat tape is our unique type of heating element where we utilize metal alloy construction to produce thin strips that offer far more benefits compared to conventional copper wires which is what most electric in-floor heating systems use. Using our unique patented technology, TruHeat systems can deliver the ideal heat output by using a fraction of the energy as all other electric floor heating systems making our systems the perfect choice for in-floor heating.
SAVE ON ENERGY CONSUMPTION
LOW ENERGY CONSUMPTION & BETTER HEAT DISTRIBUTION
Conventional electric in-floor heating systems operate on thin, high voltage copper cables which consume tons of energy to be effective. Since these cables are so thin, these systems consume tons of energy to be effective since higher temperature output is required to compensate the spacing between cable runs making your running costs go up.
With TruHeat’s metallic heat tape, the above mentioned problem is a non-issue. Firstly, with our electric floor heating system, you receive the benefit of receiving 300% MORE heating element when comparing our system with any cable based system (free run wire or mat system).
Since our systems offer such a larger coverage area, we can deliver the same heat output by consuming far less energy. As stated previously, conventional cable based systems operate at very high temperatures to be effective (104°F/40°C to 149°F/65°C), and this packs onto your running costs as you wait for these cables to start providing the heat. In contrast, since our systems cover more surface area, they operate at an efficient 82°F/28°C to 86°F/30°C. This keeps your energy consumption to a minimum and you will still reap the benefits of the same heat output as all the other systems.
FASTER HEAT TRANSFER
When a copper cable is heated, the core is much hotter than the surface trapping tons of unused energy which makes it highly inefficient. Additionally, the actual contact area of a thin cable is miniscule. You can do a simple test by taking a cylindrical pen and touch it against your finger to see how much surface area of the pen actually touches your finger…very small amount correct? This is exactly the same case with the cables. Only a tiny portion of the cable actually makes contact with the surface it is trying to heat above it.
3x FASTER HEAT DELIVERY
Cable based systems need at least 1 hour to get up to peak performance levels and this tends to get a little heavy on your wallet over time. Due to the thin metallic nature of our heat tape, our heating system will reach peak temperature in minutes. In comparison to hydronic based systems.
TruHeat systems also out perform them by delivering the heat when you need it and shutting off once the desired room/floor temperature is achieved.
Whereas, the hydronic systems need to keep working all the time otherwise they are not effective since they too need a lot more run time to be effective.
Based on lab tests, TruHeat’s amorphous metal heat tape will achieve its peak 86°F/30°C temperature in merely 3 minutes. Meanwhile, the cable reaches this same temperature in over 10 minutes. This means that with the TruHeat system, you can expect heat delivery 3 times faster.
SAVE ON INSTALLATION COSTS
Typically, all heating cables must be buried in a layer of concrete to be installed inside the house. This is simply due to the fact that they operate at such high temperatures and if anything was to be directly placed on top of them then it will burn that object. Therefore, by placing a layer of cement/mortar on top of the heating cables, the residual heat level which reaches the surface of the finished flooring is around 82°F/28°C to 86°F/30°C. This temperature range is key for all floor heating systems since it is safe for everyone and everything.
When it comes to the TruHeat in-floor heating systems, floors can be placed directly on top of them since they never heat to such high temperatures. Therefore, TruHeat systems are perfect for either wet or dry installation (when thinset mortar is not required).
(*Dry installation is applicable with EZ-Heat mats*)
